Landmark and Merit Plaques
New Haven Preservation Trust has awarded many Landmark and Merit Plaques to properties around the city to celebrate the places crucial to our city’s vitality.
Since our founding, New Haven Preservation Trust has awarded Landmark and Merit Plaques to recognize exemplary acts of leadership in historic preservation and celebrate the determination of those who preserve New Haven’s architecture and neighborhoods. The Landmark Plaque recognizes buildings or sites of outstanding and enduring architectural and historical significance. The Merit Plaque recognizes historic buildings that have been authentically restored, or sensitively rehabilitated for adaptive use. The awards are announced and celebrated at our yearly awards ceremony in May.
