Roberta Pilette

Roberta (Bobbie) was in library preservation for over 35 years. Pilette has been head of conservation labs at Columbia University Libraries and the New-York Historical Society Library. She taught book conservation courses at the University of Texas at Austin’s Preservation and Conservation Studies program and has been an adjunct faculty member at Columbia University, Palmer School of Library & Information Science, C.W. Post Campus of Long Island University, and at Simmons College Graduate School of Library & Information Science. She is the 2011 recipient of the American Library Association’s Paul Banks & Carolyn Harris Preservation Award. She co-edited Preservation: issues & planning with Paul Banks. Pilette was director of preservation at Yale University Library from 2002–2017. She has been interested in architecture preservation since her undergraduate years at the University of Michigan.
